Vegas Over/Under: 28.5
The Record Projection: 28-54 of fromal The Bet: lean although Avoid under
If any over/under mark looks right about the money, it’s the one set for the Sacramento Kings. But we’ll still lean ever so slightly toward the below, chiefly for reasons clarified by ESPN.com’s Kevin Pelton as he chased the Western Convention bottom-feeders to win just 27.4 matches:
„Despite incorporating veterans Vince Carter, George Hill and Zach Randolph as free agents, the Kings are projected since the league’s second-worst offensive attack by RPM. Although this isn’t part of the projection, few teams will have more incentive to improve their draft pick, as Sacramento will not have its first-rounder in 2019 due to commerce.“
That incentive to tank is large, and it might not even be as impactful as the possible reduction of Randolph. Explaining a situation that could soon apply to the veteran power forward, Ronald Tillery wrote for The Commerical Appeal:“The league’s collective bargaining agreement with the players‘ association states a player will be dismissed and disqualified from the NBA if he’s convicted of, or pleads guilty, no contest or nolo contendere to, a crime involving the prosecution supply of marijuana“
More minutes would be push by losing Randolph upon the Kings‘ ever-expanding assortment of young, inexperienced players. And that is the theme of this roster, as management has done a praiseworthy job of establishing their coffers after the passing of DeMarcus Cousins.
That strategy will not turn into several wins yet.
