The MLB is put up using a total of nine games on the board to get Monday. One of the best matchups place for August 19 is between the Milwaukee Brewers and the St. Louis Cardinals. These two teams are right in the mix for the top place in the NL Central, which ought to result in an exciting series. This game will begin at about 7:45 PM Eastern time on Monday night.
The Brewers are currently in third place of the NL Central. Milwaukee is two games behind the St. Louis Cardinals and the Chicago Cubs for the top spot in the branch. The Brewers have lost four of their last six matches. Milwaukee will look to finish out this brief road trip strong with a series win against the Cardinals.
St. Louis is connected with the Chicago Cubs to the top spot in the NL Central this year. The Cardinals have set up a list of 65-57 to this point in this season. St. Louis has won seven of the last nine games and will look to keep this hot series as they try and make some distance in the top spot. This homestand night, the Cardinals will look to begin.
The NL Central race will be the tightest in the MLB this season with three teams battling it out for the lead. The Cardinals and the Brewers both need a few huge wins here within this series, which should help rev up the intensity. I expect both teams to come out strong because they look to knock their division rival in the very first game of the series.
These two teams met up in a four-game show to start this off season in Milwaukee. Christian Yelich struck a three-run homer that will help lead the Brewers. Paul Goldschmidt had three home runs in the game. Travis Shaw and Mike Moustakas both had home runs in the next inning of the third game since Milwaukee won 4-2. Christian Yelich hit on on a walk-off twice in this series final game to provide the Brewers a win.
This seasons second collection was in Milwaukee back. Christian Yelich had two homers for the Brewers as they took the first match 10-7. Yelich struck on another three-run home run to help power Milwaukee and then came out in the second game. Michael Wacha allowed five hits and 2 runs through six innings as the Cardinals bounced back with a 6-3 victory in the next match.
The next and latest series shifted into St. Louis on April 22-24. A seventh inning was ridden by the Cardinals in the first game of the series to a 13-5 win. Paul DeJong struck the go-ahead home run in the next match as St. Louis won 4-3. Marcell Ozuna hit on a three-run homer as Adam Wainwright allowed four hits and one run and pitched six innings. The Cardinals swept the series.
The Cardinals and the Brewers have gone. Both of these teams have not fulfilled as late April and a whole lot has changed for the two teams since then. Both of these teams played a lot of close games early in the summer and I wouldnt expect anything different on the dedication of Monday night.
Christian Yelich has continued to lead this Brewers staff this season. Yelich has earned 141 strikes, 41 home runs, 89 RBIs along with an OPS of all 1.121 this year. Mike Moustakas has put up 119 hits, and 71 RBIs run. Lorenzo Cain has 113 hits and 40 RBIs, while Ryan Braun has 106 hits and 18 homers. Yasmani Grandal includes 61 RBIs, 20 home runs and 99 strikes. Eric Thames orlando Arcia, along with Keston Hiura all have double-digit home runs also.
Paul Goldschmidt has long had a strong season so far and 68 RBIs run. Paul DeJong has earned 21 homers, 110 hits and 56 RBIs. Kolten Wong has 104 strikes and 44 RBIs with 9 home runs. Marcell Ozuna includes 88 strikes, 22 home runs and 67 RBIs, although Dexter Fowler has made 87 strikes and 14 homers. Matt Carpenter has 11 homers and 71 hits.
St. Louis includes a strong hitting lineup, but they arent quite on the amount of the Brewers. Milwaukee has and has one of the best hitters in Yelich. The Cardinals have a solid lineup, but they will require their pitcher to step up to try and slow down the Brewers crime on Monday.
Zach Davies will start on the mound for Milwaukee on Monday night. Davies comes with an 8-5 record by which his 23 starts this season. He has an ERA of 3.74 and a WHIP of all 1.394. Davies last start came on August 2 against the Chicago Cubs, where he allowed four runs and seven hits throughout four innings. His final three starts have been tough ones, but he will look to bounce back against St. Louis.
Dakota Hudson will begin at the tilt of Monday. Hudson has got a 3.82 ERA and a WHIP of 1.555 through 25 matches this season. In these 25 games, he has set a list of 11-6 to get St. Louis. Hudsons last start came against the Kansas City Royals, where he allowed no runs and five hits through six innings.
These two pitchers match with each other. Hudson has a general record that is better and has played far better as of late, however, Davies gets got the ERA and WHIP. Davies has had three demanding begins in a row, however I would watch for him to break out of this slump with this huge game on the line.
The Brewers and the Cardinals have gone 5-5 against each other this season, however, St. Louis is currently 3-0 at home against Milwaukee. I feel that the Brewers have a fantastic chance to make their first win in St. Louis on Monday night. Milwaukee has a lineup that is hitting and I think with the days of rest for Davies, hell come out strong on Monday.
BetOnline has St. Louis listed as a -128 from the cash line. This means that the Cardinals can win this game around 56.1% of the time. I think that an important game such as this one should be closer to . Both teams need a win in this show, and I expect them both to play well. I like the Brewers as underdogs from the first game of the series, which makes them my selection of the night.
