The Speed was set by ferrari’s Charles Leclerc to the GP weekend on a drying Monza track in the Ending of an opening practice session
Following an overnight storm after which morning rainfall, F1 circuit was low on grip throughout the 90 minutes of P1 running and drivers found the going very ambitious.
Sergio Perez dropped his Racing Point, Kimi Raikkonen beached his Alfa Romeo, along with numerous motorists spun or ran wide.
The circuit dried and in the closing minutes drivers were finally able to use slick tyres, shuffling that the timesheet.
Nevertheless, it was F1’s newest race winner – along with the weekend favorite for the race win – who topped the charts, with Leclerc’s final lap taking him into a best lap of 1:27.905.

Lando Norris and mcLaren pair Carlos Sainz finished third and second respectively.
World championship leader Lewis Hamilton was fourth, with Alex Albon the direct Red Bull in fifth.
Tricky Monza catches outside drivers
Raikkonen, a year’s polesitter using Ferrari, had been the primary driver to spin in the gravel as he set the power down to exit the Parabolica, Monza’s quick and long corner.
Following a red flag to recover the Finn’s car, a different one was immediately caused by Racing Point Perez when he struck the obstacles departing the Ascari chicane.
„We had the red flag so I was in the time of heating up the tyres, which were cold,“ Perez told Sky F1. „It’s hard to find grip with this tyre, but maybe not a great deal of drivers have crashed.
„It is obviously quite hard out there, the grip is really low.“
